EuroCoord to host workshop on global cohort
collaborations at XIX International AIDS Conference
16 July 2012
EuroCoord
in association with NA-ACCORD and IeDEA will host a joint symposium
entitled Global cohort collaborations and the role of extremely
large datasets in HIV/AIDS and other diseases on Monday 23
July from 18.30-20.30 during the XIX International AIDS Conference
in Washington DC.
The symposium aims to highlight and discuss the role of cohort
collaborations in HIV research. More specifically, areas of
discussion will explore: opportunities offered by these
collaborations for public health policy makers, steps taken to
ensure that datasets provide the highest quality data and the value
of these collaborations for modelling the spread and potential
impact of the HIV epidemic. The invited speakers are: Veronica
Miller, Tim Hallet, Patrick Sullivan, Maya Petersen, Jesper Kjaer,
Annette Sohn, Julia Del Amo and Charles Holmes.
For further information please see the symposium
banner and the flyer
(pdf, 10mb) describing the session.

Excellence established by several of the biggest HIV cohorts and
collaborations within Europe. Funded by the European Commission, it
currently has access to data from over 270,000 HIV positive people
from many different settings in Europe and beyond.
