The MRC CTU is on the move! We will be making the short journey down the road to our new home - 90 High Holborn - on Friday 6 October. For everyone in the Unit, and those that work with us, it will mostly be business as usual, though there may be some delays around the weekend of the move.

Findings from the STAMPEDE trial and STOPCaP study, both looking at how to treat high risk and advanced prostate cancer, were presented this weekend at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) annual meeting in Madrid. The findings throw light on the relative advantages of adding docetaxel or abiraterone to long-term hormone therapy.

The results of the ICON8 trial show that for women with ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer or primary peritoneal cancer, having chemotherapy weekly is no better than having chemotherapy once every three weeks. These results were presented earlier today at the European Society for Medical Oncology annual meeting in Madrid.

Back in January 2017, Professor Patrick Royston was awarded the Stata Journal Editors’ Prize 2016, for his significant contributions to Stata and the Stata community over the last 25 years, and for three papers he published in the Stata Journal during the previous two years. Today, Patrick will officially receive his award at 2017 London Stata Users Group meeting in London.
