We are delighted to announce that Professor Patrick Royston has been awarded the Stata Journal Editors' Prize 2016.
Patrick is a giant of the Stata community and this award recognises his many contributions. Patrick's primary role at the Unit is to develop statistical methods for medical research, and his methods are typically accompanied by well-written, user-friendly Stata packages. His skill is reflected by the number of his packages that have been naturalised into 'official' Stata. We at the Unit have benefited hugely from this work and heartily agree with the editors' choice.

As one commenter noted, the award could have emphasized an entirely different set of articles and still been justified.
